CSL Retained to Conduct Update to Destination SA: Strategic Planning for Visitor Industry Growth in San Antonio

CSL is currently assisting the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau in conducting an update to the comprehensive, long-range strategic plan for the convention, visitor and hospitality industries in San Antonio. Titled "Destination SA", the original 2006 analysis provided the community with a plan to: (1) enhance the attractiveness of the destination for visitors and residents; (2) protect and enhance the unique cultural and historical characteristics of the San Antonio destination; and (3) enhance the ability of the visitor industry to create significant economic impacts and improve the quality of life for the residents of San Antonio.

Subsequent to the issuance of Destination SA, numerous investment and policy initiatives have been implemented to support and enhance the visitor industry in San Antonio, and at the same time important changes have taken place to the convention and visitor industry on a national and regional basis. Considering this, the City has retained CSL to prepare an update to the original Destination SA. This update will provide the City with an extensive plan for continued strategic investment in the convention and visitor industry - investment that will serve to enhance the San Antonio convention and visitor industry product and resulting community-wide impacts.
