CSL Completes Feasibility Study for Potential New Convention and Performing Arts Center Facilities in Fairbanks, Alaska

The Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau, in conjunction with the Fairbanks Arts Association, retained CSL earlier this year to conduct a feasibility study related to the potential development of a new convention center and/or performing arts center in Fairbanks, Alaska. On September 23, 2009, CSL Director Bill Krueger presented study findings to four community stakeholder groups in Fairbanks over a two-day period.

Study tasks included the analysis of market demand and building program options, site/location, financial operations, economic and fiscal impacts, funding alternatives and ownership and management analysis. Further, the study incorporated extensive community outreach and telephone surveys of hundreds of potential facilities users from international, national, regional and local event segments.
