WHATS NEW 2008-01-29 CSL Hired to Perform a Convention Center Feasibility Study in Fox Cities, WI In January, CSL was hired by the Fox Cities Convention and Visitor Bureau to perform a convention center feasibility study in Fox Cities area of Wisconsin. Fox Cities is comprised of 18 municipalities, including the city of Appleton, which is situated approximately a half hour’s drive southwest of Green Bay. The largest existing meeting facility in the Fox Cities area is the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, which has 37,000 square feet of event space. As envisioned, a Fox Cities convention center would act as an economic generator and a public resource for local community residents, hosting conventions, conferences, tradeshows, public/consumer shows, meetings, spectator and other events of both a non-local and local nature. The scope of services includes the analysis of local market conditions, competitive and comparable convention centers, regional industry characteristics and trends, market surveys of state and regional organizations, market supportable building program, site analysis, preliminary construction costs, financial operations and economic impacts. The study is expected to be completed by the Summer of 2008.
