Impact Study Released for New 49ers Stadium


In April 2006, the San Francisco 49ers released the results of CSL International’s analysis of the estimated economic impacts of a new stadium in Santa Clara, California for the National Football League (NFL) 49ers. The analysis concluded that the City and County of Santa Clara stand to benefit significantly from economic activity related to a new stadium. Specifically, the presence of the stadium and the 49ers is estimated to generate the following impacts within Santa Clara County:

     • $160 million in annual direct spending
     • $249 million in annual economic activity
     • More than 2,200 new jobs
     • $112 million in personal earnings each year

In addition to these economic benefits within the County, the project is also estimated to result in the generation of approximately $12 million in annual tax revenues for the city, county and state combined. For more information, please visit:
