Kristoffar Nelson has been a part of CSL’s consulting team since 2001, and currently serves as a Project Manager. His experience has included more than 180 event facility and visitor industry planning and operational studies throughout North and South America and the United Kingdom.
These studies have included a wide variety of visitor-generating event facilities, including convention centers and conference centers, collegiate and professional arenas, stadiums, ballparks, fairgrounds, performing arts centers, theaters, civic and exhibition centers, recreational sports facilities and complexes, hotels, museums, shopping malls and other such venues. Beyond research related to facilities, Mr. Nelson has been actively involved in a number of comprehensive destination development planning projects in markets including San Antonio, Palm Springs, Miami, Orlando, Reno/Tahoe, Louisville, Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Cape Cod.
Mr. Nelson has assisted both public and private sector entities with research and analysis during the early stages of strategic facility planning, performing various analyses of market demand, comparable/competitive facility and market benchmarking, historical facility operations, industry characteristics and trends, local market conditions, sales and marketing practices, operational policies and procedures, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, economic and fiscal impacts, pricing, financial operations, building program, site/location evaluation, and funding options of various public assembly facilities and hotels.
