The University of Oregon retained CSL to assess the viability of a new arena to replace MacArthur Court, one of the oldest collegiate arenas in the country. CSL studied the impact a new arena could have on the University's basketball program and the arena's potential ability to attract concerts and other such non-University events. Working with the University's internal survey group, CSL completed 615 telephone surveys of Duck Athletic Fund members and local/regional corporations to assess interest in premium seating.

In addition, CSL conducted six focus group sessions to obtain further insight into the potential demand for the project. CSL then developed event and attendance level estimates for the new arena and estimated the revenues and expenses that could result from those levels. CSL also estimated the economic impact the new arena could have on the Eugene market and assisted the University in determining an appropriate site on which to build the facility.

CSL was recently retained by the University to prepare an update of the 2003 study. It is envisioned that the update will be used by the rating agencies to assess the ability of the Athletics Department to issue debt to finance the $200 million arena.
