The City of Charlotte retained CSL to evaluate the Charlotte Coliseum’s ability to retain the Charlotte Hornets in the community. In addition, CSL served as the City Manager’s “blue ribbon” committee advisor with regard to the various development options available to the City. CSL assisted the City in negotiations with the Hornets to develop a new Uptown arena and evaluated the financial implications of the various arena development proposals. Subsequent to the Hornets’ departure, CSL assisted the City in the negotiations with the NBA and the new ownership group.

 

The $260 million, 19,077-seat Time Warner Cable Arena opened in 2005 in downtown Charlotte as the new home of the expansion NBA Charlotte Bobcats.
