City of Springdale, Springdale, Arkansas
CSL was hired by the City of Springdale to provide a market, financial, economic impact and funding analysis related to a potential mixed-use development that was envisioned to include a minor league ballpark, among other components. Ballpark-related analyses completed by CSL included an analysis of potentially competitive regional facilities and comparable minor league ballparks. Estimates of potential annual event and attendance levels were developed for scenarios involving a Class AA or independent league franchise. Based on these estimates, the resulting financial and economic impact parameters of the ballpark were evaluated. Finally, CSL analyzed the funding capability of various taxes and ballpark revenue streams that could be used to finance the costs of the proposed development.
The $32 million, 6,500-seat Arvest Ballpark opened in 2008 as the new home of the Class AA Arkansas Naturals, who relocated from Wichita, Kansas.
